Today I Learned: 1) There is a bird that has evolved symbiosis with humans -- the greater honeyguide. Honeyguides will lead humans to bee hives, using and responding to special, locally-varying calls. The human hunters harvest the bee hives, and the honeyguides feast on wax and grubs left over once the people leave. That could explain a fair number of failures of golden gate assembly in our lab over the last couple of weeks....
